                             Sri Lanka Unites is carried out mainly to build positive inter-relationships among the different races in our country making a change in Sri Lanka to bring about reconciliation. They carry out many service projects based on community service and reconciliation. They meet on Fridays afterschool and take time to discuss the importance of working and living as one country in an entertaining and fun way. Speakers from outside also come in and conduct motivational speeches

                           In the previous year the club won the COC(Champions Of Change) project at the Future Leaders’ Conference Project based on Violence against women harassment. They are currently working on their next service project.

 

Service Projects

The SLU club recently carried out a service project at Mullaitivu along with the design club and the Academy of design(AOD).

ENV Club

Brief detail about activity:

  • The ENV club is responsible for keeping the school environment clean and they inspect classrooms once a week and hand out shields to the cleanest classrooms in the upper school and middle school.

The Design club of Methodist College which is linked to the Academy of Design (AOD), was started in January 2014. This club focuses mainly on developing the ability of designing among the students.

They carry out activities related to various aspects of designing such as fashion designing, interior designing, graphic designing etc.

All students from Grades 12 and 13 meet up during school hours and discuss on various issues and pressures faced by students.

This creates an environment for students to interact with each other and express their views on the various topics which are selected each week.
